Bouzopoula mon amour!

The full-day event concluded with a traditional feast

The Stavros Niarchos Foundation Dialogues (SNF Dialogues) on Saturday, July 13, 2019, took a multitude of friends to the western side of Mount Parnonas, specifically to Vamvakou, Laconia, along with Dadstronomy.

On a day filled with activities and events, open and free for all, the SNF Dialogues invited the public to a discussion on “Returning to Roots.”

The full-day event concluded with a traditional feast in Kato Vrysi, Vamvakou, curated by Dadstronomy under the guidance of our beloved heart chef, Tony Kavalieros. The menu was rich and included traditional local flavors.

Thus, the feast featured the traditional “Bouzouki Night,” local sausage with orange and fennel mustard sauce, traditional local dishes like “Sygklino” with orange, “Lalangia,” and “Sfela,” black-eyed pea salad with cherry tomatoes, fresh shallots, and herbs, as well as barley salad with orange, red onion, olives, and herbs.

For dessert, the local specialties: “Diples” and “Pourakia” with walnuts and pomegranate, and of course, natural orange juice from Laconia.
